With version 0.7.0, coreX extends its system with a fully integrated forum. No external solution, no plugin – but a standalone module embedded directly into the architecture.
The goal was clear: a forum that feels just as clean and controlled as the rest of coreX.
Classic Structure, Modern Implementation
The forum is based on a proven, clear structure:
- Categories
- Forums
- Threads
- Posts
These four levels ensure clarity and scalability – whether for a small project or a larger community.
Full Control Over Roles and Permissions
A central component is the integrated permission system. Access and actions can be precisely controlled – from simple users to moderators.
With the new Forum Moderator role, all important tools are available:
- Close threads
- Delete posts
- Move or pin threads
- Manage and ban users
All actions are cleanly integrated into the existing coreX permissions system.
Backend and Frontend Work Seamlessly Together
In the admin area, categories and forums can be managed directly. Order, visibility and permissions can be adjusted flexibly.
On the frontend side, the forum offers everything you would expect:
- Overview of all categories and forums
- Thread lists
- Individual views with replies
- Creation of new threads
Everything runs within the existing coreX system – without breaks in design or workflow.
Moderation and Security
Moderation functions are directly integrated and accessible via dedicated endpoints. This keeps interventions fast, transparent and controllable.
Additionally, the system was built so that it can be easily extended – both functionally and structurally.
Why a Custom Forum?
Many CMS systems rely on external solutions or plugins. This often leads to inconsistencies, additional dependencies and unnecessary complexity.
With the integrated forum, coreX follows a different approach:
- unified architecture
- central permission management
- no external dependencies
The result is a system that feels consistent – both for administrators and users.
Another Step Towards a Complete System
With the forum, coreX continues to develop towards a platform that manages more than just content.
Community, communication and structure become a direct part of the system – without compromise on performance or control.
And as usual with coreX: this is just the beginning.
