There are many content management systems. WordPress, Joomla, Typo3 – the list is long. But they all have one thing in common: they grow over the years into complex monuments that overwhelm small projects and drive developers crazy with endless plugin dependencies. coreX takes a different approach.
What is coreX?
coreX is a modular, lean CMS that has been rethought from the ground up. No bloated code base, no unnecessary abstraction layers – instead a clear, well-thought-out system that adapts to every project, not the other way around. Built on PHP 8.2 with its own routing system, a clean MVC approach and a database that contains only what is truly needed.
Even though coreX is still in development and thus still BEFORE v1.0, the name is already a statement: coreX stands for the core – the essential – combined with the X for the unknown, the extensible, the future-proof.
Intuitive from the First Click
The most striking feature of coreX is its admin interface. Instead of overwhelming users with menu items, settings matrices and confusing workflows, coreX presents a modern Dark-Glass design – an interface that not only looks great but is consistently designed for clarity.
The sidebar shows everything important at a glance: Dashboard, Users, Statistics, Content Manager, News/Blog, Messages, Media Library, Hero Editor, Design Options, Configuration. No hidden menu item, no nested submenus. What you see is what you get.
The Content Manager with its drag-and-drop block system allows assembling page content without a single line of code. Blocks for text, images, galleries, CTAs, timelines, contact forms – everything visually combinable, everything immediately previewable.
Innovation You Can Feel
While other CMS systems sell innovation in the form of plugins, coreX brings it directly:
Dynamic Design System
All website colors – eyecatcher gradient, Bootstrap colors, section backgrounds, form elements – can be customized live via the Design Options. A single click on a color chip and the entire website updates in real time. No CSS knowledge necessary.
Integrated Visitor Statistics
coreX tracks visitors, page views, browsers, operating systems, origin and live users – all privacy-friendly, all without external services. Bot traffic is automatically detected and reported separately. The statistics page shows at a glance what is happening on your own website.
News / Blog with SEO Slugs
The integrated blog editor supports rich text content via Quill, categories, authors, featured images and SEO-friendly URL slugs. The public blog overview automatically shows generated previews (configurable word count) with a "Read More" button – without touching a single template.
Custom Code – Directly in the Admin
Custom CSS and JavaScript can be entered directly in the admin area, with syntax highlighting via CodeMirror. The result is securely injected into the <head> and <footer> areas of the website.
Glassmorphism Admin Out of the Box
The admin interface itself is a showcase of modern web development. Glass effects, blur backdrop, CSS variables, responsive sidebar – all without an external admin template, all handcrafted and performant.
Who is coreX for?
coreX is aimed at developers who value control and at the same time at clients who need simplicity. It is the ideal foundation for:
- Corporate and agency websites
- Portfolios and personal blogs
- Landing pages with complex content
- Projects where you do not want to be forced into someone else's system
There is no licensing model for coreX yet – that is also still in the making.
A Preview
coreX is in active development. The roadmap includes a media library with drag-and-drop upload, a hero editor for animated homepage sections, an extended permission system and much more. The architecture is designed to grow – without becoming sluggish.
